Dental implants are a great solution for lost teeth, but they are not cheap.
You could choose a bridge or dentures, or you could choose dental implants to replace your missing teeth, carried out at a renowned clinic in London.
If you are having a bridge then the filing down of two adjoining teeth will be necessary, and that can make them weaker in the long run and also more prone to decay. Dentures have their own problems and it can often be a bit difficult to achieve a comfortable fit. Some people also say that wearing dentures can change their ability to taste.
In dental implantation, the first thing that will happen will be a titanium screw being placed in the jawbone to which a prosthetic tooth will be attached. An implant actually has no physical downsides in respect of side effects or drawbacks and has good longevity.
The only downside with implants? The cost.
Dentists can refer patients to an oral surgeon a periodontist, or prosthodontist or may have the experience necessary to carry out dental implants for patients themselves.
Many dentists will be using implants that have been made by the original Swedish manufacturer; that has a high success rate of over 90%. There are newer, generic implants although they have not necessarily been subject to study yet. It will be a good idea to do your homework and find out a bit about the different implants that are currently being used and then discuss with the dentist who is going to treat you which implant he or she is intending to use.
